Paddling Tips

Next time you’re out paddling and you want some light diversion as well as a really good technique drill, try pausing your stroke every third stroke you take. So count it out, 1,2, 3 pause, 1,2,3 pause and so on.
On the pause really wind up the torso and HOLD it for about 1 second. This will do a number of things, give you time to get into the correct ‘wound up’ position and also improve your balance in your boat. Do it in increasingly rougher water and you’ll be surprised how quickly it will improve your paddling power and your balance.
