Remember …if it’s not tied on it will get lost! Even if you think you have those fiddly bits of gear stowed away safely in the cockpit or under a bungee it only takes the unexpected gust or minor mishap in a small wave when “dismounting” at the beach and those sunglasses, sunhat, hand pump, snack etc could be gone forever.
If you value it ….tie it on.
